Wells Beach, Maine
Wells has one of the largest collections of used, rare book stores and antique dealers on the Maine coast.  Travel up to Route 1 and visit these stores, dealers and shops.

You may find that book or print that would make a perfect gift or souvenir from your beach vacation at Wells Beach.  Explore!

Wells Harbor and the nearby salt marsh provide great recreation.  Kayaks and canoes are available for rent from several area businesses.

Get close to nature on your vacation.  You may run across the Snowy Egrets and Great Blue Herons that feed and pass through the salt marsh.  Marvel!

There are many scenic areas along the Maine coastline that you can visit. The Wells Beach main entrance provides a viewing deck with many benches where you can sit and relax.

Enjoy an ice cream cone or just people watch from the deck.  It's a grand view and the perfect place to snap great photos of Wells Beach.  Bring a camera!

Although there are several deep sea fishing charter boats that leave out of Wells Harbor each day, some people just want to kick back and fish off the jetty on the north end of Wells Beach.  The channel provides great fishing.

Bring your gear and cast off into the channel.  Stripers and Blues are the favorites, but who knows what you may reel in.  Cast away!

Wells Harbor also provides a great place to launch your canoe or kayak.  If you are bringing your own vessel, go down to Harbor Park and park.

You can always check with the Harbormaster for more information.  His office may be found at the end of the pier.  Be adventurous!

To the south of Wells, you can visit Ogunquit, just 5 miles down the road.  At Perkins Cove you can park and hike the Marginal Way.

Great vistas can be found around every turn. Enjoy scenes of the rocky coastline as well as Ogunquit Beach.  You can even take the Trolley from Wells Beach to Perkins Cove.  Seek nature's beauty!

The fall is a special time at Wells Beach.  The water is actually warmer during the early weeks of September and the waves a little higher.

Your fall vacation will provide lower rates, less traffic and more time to explore up and down the Maine coast.  Like the spring, the fall can be the best time to visit Wells Beach.  That's our little secret that we thought we'd pass on you!  Don't tell anyone!
